1.     Elephant Open House

A rare chance to peer inside the African elephant house! Talk to Toronto Zoo staff and learn about elephants and conservation. Your $1 is a donation for worldwide elephant conservation efforts.

2.     Tommy Thompson Park Butterfly Festival

Chase butterflies with your children! Grab a nature sketchbook, learn about pollination or hop on a bike and tour the park.

3.     Meet Shelley Awad

Meet Shelley Awad, author of the Greenhouse Kids at Indigo’s Local Authors Day. Get an autograph or ask a question about Holly Hocks or Johnny Jump-ups from the writer herself.

4.     The Ex

Children never tire of midway rides, food and animals. Don’t miss the country’s largest agricultural/cultural fair right in our own backyard. With exhibits, free concerts and a daily Mardi Gras parade, legs will be tired before all 192 acres of the Ex are explored.

5.     Toronto Chess Fest

Grab a chess board and hop onto the ferry for Toronto Islands. Open to all ages, play against other chess lovers or try your luck playing against pChess, a new chess engine.
